Cleaning things sucks. I want to get a realistic idea of how much time I will be spending on maintaining my armor. How often do you actually clean your gear? Is it something you do after every single event, or do you let it sit for a while? What's the bare minimum to avoid rust on buhurt armour I am trying to come up with good care strategies.

Oh you absolutely have to clean something every single day or bacteria will wreck it. I always give it a wipe-down after every use and, then a more thorough cleaning at least once a month is a good thing to do. For those monthly cleans, I typically oil all the moving parts and leather bits. There are many different things to consider when it comes to modern fighting. Thinking about all this discussion about cleaning gear, I am reminded of the time investments required in all athletic pursuits. Whether it is running a marathon or participating in buhurt, the time spent in training, preparation, and even repair is often as much if not more than what people spend during the actual event.
