DOME Fiber Closure Is Commonly Used In Polycarbonate

DOME Fiber Closure is a passive device that ensures a secure connection to the cable. In the application, it is divided into overhead, pipeline and direct burial; internal connection methods are divided into direct connection and non-sequential connection. The former is a short two optical cables with the same number of cores connected together. The latter is a method for separating a large number of optical fiber cables and one or more small or multiple optical cables corresponding to each other to interpenetrate each other.

The backbone network usually uses the direct method as the main method, and the access layer is based on different methods; the connection between the fibers is divided into mechanical and thermal contraction. The former selects a mechanical connector to mechanically disconnect the fiber that needs to be docked and through the concentricity of the connector.

The cores are aligned and the latter is selected by a fusion splicer to thermally bond the bonded and fixed fibers together and held by a heat shrink sleeve. Since the latter has almost no additional attenuation and has little impact on the entire network, most of the current heat shrinking is used to improve the communication capabilities of the network. At present, fiber optic splice closures are mainly divided into plastic casings and stainless steel casings. The plastic housing is the main component. The plastics used are usually those which have excellent functions in engineering plastics. Polycarbonate and alloy PP are commonly used. Polycarbonate is arguably the best of today's engineering plastics, and its excellent high and low temperature properties can be used in a variety of harsh environments.

The poor waterproof performance of DOME Fiber Closure is due to the weather, the short circuit of water in the fiber connector box, it is easy to cause large-scale power outage. Due to the small internal space of the fiber optic connector, the fiber optic connector closure is easy to enter the water. The 35mm2 cable power supply line is fixed by a plastic expansion tube, so there is no space for waterproofing and bending, and even raining along the cable to the live terminal. On the other hand, since the gap between the terminals is small, the insulation measures are not in place, and they are easily short-circuited after entering the water.
